Artist Statement

From the pages of a book, we were taught about the world. In my experience, true knowledge comes from physically seeing the world. Athens, London, and Paris are three major European cities that cater to vastly different histories and cultures. Being able to explore these cities taught me more than a curriculum ever could.

The three images in order are the Acropolis in Athens, St. Paul's Cathedral in London, and The Louvre in Paris. Hanging in front of each image are three glass panels that represent the pixels of each image. While looking up close, the panels are globs of color, but from afar, they line up with the images behind.

Although each image is from a different place and depicts a different landmark, they take on a homogeneous look, for at the core of each lies the same thing: red, green, and blue. This reflects human nature as well. We may all look different or have different lifestyles, but at the end of the day, we are all the same.
