My work primarily focuses on relationships - how they are established, maintained, and strained. I aim to depict the intimacy of human interaction through allegorical subject matter, using familiar objects to draw the viewer in and allowing them to determine the object's status in relation to the other pieces of the puzzle. The main figure is emphasized, while different iconography within a liminal space is used to offset the viewer's expectations.
I believe it is crucial to remember that our perception is heavily influenced by our lived experiences. Our consumption of media, religious beliefs, and personal experiences all contribute to how we perceive the world. By pointing out the absurdities in our everyday lives, we are able to take a step back and gain a better understanding of ourselves and others.
