Prof. Jinchul Kim
As head of the painting and drawing areas, Prof. Kim teaches the capstone class, painting, drawing classes, and is in charge of the senior exhibition. He is a distinguished figurative painter whose works evokes the liminal stage of college life as he observes it unfolding around him everyday. He received his two MFAs from King Sejong University in Seoul and the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He exhibits his work internationally, including shows in Korea, Japan, France, Spain, and the U.S. He has received many awards such as: the Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award twice, in 2006 and 2013, the University System of Maryland’s highest faculty honor: The Regents Faculty Awards for Excellence in Teaching in 2008, and Salisbury University Distinguish Faculty Award in Teaching in 2008.
