JOEY OSBORNE

Until I was in college, I was in the engineering pathway pretty much my whole life. When I made the switch to art, my technological side of me didn't leave. New Media allows me to plan and create art in a very technical way. Drawing inspiration from Films and TV shows, I create work that reflects Hollywood and my interpretation of it.
My work starts as just an idea, inspired by my dreams. Before sketching, I ask myself why I thought of it and what could have inspired me to think of it. From there, I go one of two ways, I either play into that original reference or try to create something completely different. This philosophy then turns to paper, and then my computer, and then to real life.
While this project consists of multiple monitors and TVs, it's more of a mirror. The screens will display the artwork that I created in response to my influences growing up. 3D animations will light up the room and develop a sense of nostalgia for both the viewer and me.
