NICHOLAS MANOLATOS
Artist Statement
Through behind-the-scenes processes and how I present my work, I like to relate my pieces to the audience to feel "at home" and better understand the work I am creating. I draw inspiration from artists in both the gaming and cinematic film communities, as I find this style of work the most interesting and closest to what I would like to create. I want to connect to the audience with my work in any way possible to widen the knowledge of design in those who do not understand or seek to know more. I want to give more insight into how important the design process is and how crucial design is in the real world for those who might not understand.
When it comes time to work on a piece, either for myself, a school project, or a client, I like to make myself as comfortable as possible. Whether that's the mood, how I am dressed, or how I have my desk setup. I usually put on soft music to focus on the task I have set ahead of me, and this is where I dive into my other world, my passion for designing. If I am in a state of mind like this, it will help me get my point across to everyone and see what I see in my work.
