Artist Statement
As a photographer, I focus on capturing the changes that occur over time in various landscapes. I believe the world always has a unique story to tell, whether it is local or a distant location. I draw inspiration from learning about the history and culture of the places I photograph, as well as from past historical events and their impact on the world today. In my traditional photography, I aim to convey the essence of a location by emphasizing the aesthetic of symmetry and reflections on windows and water to showcase the beauty in architecture and nature.
In addition to traditional photography, I also explore the use of glass in my artistic process through alternate processes of photography. I see the use of glass to reflect on the history of both glass and photography. Without glass, the advancements in photography that we enjoy today would not have been possible. Therefore, my work can be seen as a visual journey through the past, as the use of glass allows light to travel as if it were moving through time.
