Jonathan Baggot
BFA Graphic Design

I am a graphic designer exploring photography, illustration, and silkscreen printing. I find inspiration from experiences felt and moments presented in my everyday life.

My design work specializes in branding, identity, typography, and composition. I often pull from nature, using organic textures, earthy color palettes, and minimal arrangements. Before turning to art, I studied environmental studies, and that background continues to shape my perspective. I deeply respect the Earth and strive to merge design with sustainability by pursuing repurposed and environmentally conscious solutions.

For Issue No. 72: In Bloom, I wanted to reflect on my growth as an artist here at Salisbury. I have created a collection of upcycled printed clothing along with natural candles made in recycled containers. I will also shine a light on some past work I've done during my time here, centered around my love for music.

Silkscreen printing, much like photography, captures the beauty of a single moment. There's an unpredictability to the process that teaches me acceptance. I use clothing as my canvas, blending elements of sigil tattoo art with digital design. In doing so, I aim to give new life to pieces that might otherwise be discarded or overlooked.

Presence is central to both my life and my work. I value being fully engaged in the process, allowing each piece to unfold naturally without forcing an outcome. In a world saturated with distraction, I hope to create work that invites stillness, authenticity, and connection.
