My current body of work explores the intersection of non-functional found objects and metalwork. I aim to recontextualize these materials, giving purpose to the seemingly meaningless and character to the emotionless through gesture and form. Each piece creates an immersive space for viewers, allowing them to construct stories in their minds based on the visual dynamics I carefully design.

I create to express my personality and imagination while also giving a voice to the
objects I incorporate—each of which has been silenced by its circumstances. My goal is to restore that voice. I am drawn to these found materials because of their storied lives, and I seek to honor them through my work. An underlying theme of environmentalism informs my practice, as many of these materials and objects have industrial origins. By recontextualizing them, I breathe new life into what may have once contributed to environmental degradation.

I prefer direct metalworking, complemented by other media, and I occasionally explorestone and cast metal. These mediums highlight the materials used. My style leans toward showcasing natural textures, emphasizing the true essence of the materials in my compositions rather than concealing them. Rust, worn paint, dents, and cracks suggest a storied existence that I wish to accentuate. My greatest influences are artists who fully engage with their materials, working with them rather than against them. I frequently reference artists such as Sarah Sze, Bruce Beasley, Barbara Hepworth, and Andrew Hellmund, who recontextualize metal and found objects into new ideas.

Ultimately, my work aims to impart meaning to the obsolete. By combining neglected
forms with steel shapes and figures, I give these objects the opportunity to transcend their antiquity and share their stories with viewers. Through this new context, they are enhanced by their deformities and imperfections rather than hindered by them
