Rachel Mode

For my senior show, I wanted to create something that shows my interests and is exciting for the viewers. My influences include things that aren't normally seen in everyday life, psychedelic imagery, claymation, nature, and spirituality. I feel that art can be used as an outlet to express how you feel when you can't find the words. From my own experiences, art has helped me in this way. It can temporarily help you take your mind into a fantasy of enjoyment when needing a mental break from the world. My senior show is based on things the naked eye may not see. This includes bringing everyday imagery to life. When walking into a nightclub or a boardwalk funhouse, the viewer gets engulfed in what's around them. They forget about what is on the outside of the room that they are in. That essence is how I want my show to feel. I hope the viewer just takes a deep breath and enjoys the experience for what it is. Sometimes it is just cool to see cool things, and it doesn't have to be any more than that. I want my viewers to perceive my work as something down to earth while also sharing a part of my life. With inspiration such as my spirit guides, I hope to incorporate an illustrated mindset of my own experiences with things that I find inspiring or bring me serotonin. Not everything is easy in the world, but I hope that my show can bring joy and awe to viewers to brighten their day.
