Personal Profile

I have two main motives for creation. The first is to unravel the world.

Creating art allows me to process my experiences and make sense of the world around me. The second is connection. While creating my pieces, I actively sought out raw and evocative modes of expression.

My show features work created from the beginning of the pandemic to the present. From photography to painting to fabric and thread, I experimented with and mixed various

mediums throughout my time here at Salisbury University.

My work deals with internal and external relationships as I grapple with the notion of being known and ultimately unknowable. As both a visual artist and poet, imagery is vital. I strike a mindful balance between the lyrical and the visceral, considering both aesthetic and expressive qualities in each of my pieces. Naturally, my visual artwork incorporates iconography and themes from my poetry; desire, loss, rumination, the push and pull of finding my sense of self. My work also contends with the fleeting nature of time and memories, engaging with elements of abstraction as they intersect with reality, working to identify and capture particular representations of my time in order to find myself.

I am excited to see how my work evolves with me.
