David Dempsey

Ever since I was a kid, I've always loved skateboarding, and how you can become the artist on deciding the next trick I want to land, there is something so satisfying when you land that trick you've been working on for a long time. I've always dreamed of designing my own board, as I always admired the work of successful skateboard companies. I created five skateboard deck designs of hobbies I've recollected through the years.

If you know me, you know I enjoy finding new passions in life and bringing those passions into my art. The first deck was created to display my newest hobby, golfing. The deck represents my favorite professional golfer John Daly who stood out when it came to the average golfer. The second deck represents the ocean and the Assateague Island lighthouse, and this goes along with the beach days I enjoy during the summer while I take advantage of living close to the beach. Third and fourth, I created a trailer home under the sun and the night sky. This represents what I plan on doing after college, and I want to travel around the country and enjoy new places to explore while working virtually. Lastly, I created a deck in honor of my favorite NHL team, I played hockey my whole life, and even for SU, I wanted to create a deck of the team I've enjoyed watching my whole life.
